Virginia Energy Announces $2.4 Million Investment in Nuclear Energy Supply Chain and Workforce Development

RICHMOND, VA – The Virginia Department of Energy (Virginia Energy) has awarded a $2.4 million grant to the Virginia Nuclear Innovation Hub (VIN Hub) to address nuclear workforce modeling, manufacturing, and supply chain assessments by establishing a small grants program to fund projects that will assist Virginia localities, industry, and academia to help further Virginia’s nuclear energy technologies. The award is funded through the Virginia Power Innovation Program (VPIP), which supports the research and development of innovative energy technologies, including nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture and utilization, and energy storage.
