STAFF

  • Jeff Whitt (Executive Director) – Jeffrey S. Whitt brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the nuclear energy and telecommunications sectors, with expertise spanning technical, commercial, and strategic business development. As President of Framatome U.S. Government Solutions LLC, he has advanced innovative nuclear technologies by collaborating with government entities and leading strategic initiatives. His extensive career includes senior roles in manufacturing, engineering, and customer engagement, as well as active participation on advisory boards and working groups shaping the future of nuclear energy.
  • Bob Bailey (Project Manager) – Bob Bailey has over 40 years of experience in workforce development, tech based economic development and industry, specializing in the nuclear energy industry and advanced technologies. As the former Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Engineering and Research, he has led initiatives connecting research institutions with industry to drive innovation and technological advancement.

Technical Team

  • Dr. Ali Haghighat (VT)Chief Science Officer focused on developing new science and technology (R&D push)
  • Dr. Sean Agnew (UVA) – Chief Integration and Sustainability Officer (CISO) focused on integration of R&D and industry needs. This position looks for interconnectivity between the R&D and industry needs, while identifying opportunities for integration of technologies into the supply chain, research projects to fulfill supply chain gaps, and translation to market as technologies mature.
  • Dr. Supathorn Phongikaroon (VCU) – Workforce Development & Outreach Officer focused on workforce and outreach. Building the next generation workforce is a top priority. As such, the CWTO position is focused on building the next generation workforce through education activities and onboarding of new members through annual workshops and other projects.
  • Dr. Mark Horstemeyer (LU) – Chief Technology Officer (CTO) focused on demonstration of new technology (industry pull)

TECHNICAL ADVISORY BOARD

To ensure that the VIN Hub has access to advice and counsel on a regular basis on all aspects of its work, the VIN Hub will establish a Technical Advisory Group (TAG). This TAG will be composed of distinguished members from industry and academia who are experts in the scientific, technical, and management aspects of the mission.
